So the liming went like this: three consecutive weekends, three consecutive races. I did two 10K trail runing races and one XTERRA off road triathlon. The wto running races went very well, but the triathlon was a bit of a disaster. I am really slow. I suppose I should have raced the sprint distance, there I would have been more competitive. But I have the endurance to go for four hours, so I might as well get my money's worth, right? Other liming activities included a nice daily routine of training in the morning, eating, lunch, hammocking, reading, napping, cocktail hour, interesting dinners, movies and bed at a decent hour. All to do it again the next day!
A few highlights:
McDougall "Fish Tacos"
An absolute hit! Not very difficult if you have more than one person in the kitchen.
Regular racing in Tahoe
It was fun riding in the back of a truck at the last race, chatting with a guy I met at a previous race. Makes me feel local.
Watching Twin Peaks
We finally finished the series.
Developing new computer skills, and experimenting with new software to help my productivity.
Lowlights:
Finishing Twin Peaks.
What do we watch next?
Swimming at high altitude in COLD water.
Why can't find a decent breathing rhythm?
Not enough writing and blogging.
Where did the time go? My naps weren't that long, were they?
Unfortunately, as all things must end, so does this first episode of liming. The rest of this week will be spent preparing for summer school, cleaning, organizing, and of course training, so that my next XTERRA goes a bit smoother!
